Tulsa Christmas Parades
There are no new negotiations on the Tulsa Christmas Parades. Therefore, there will be two parades once again. The group that includes the name Christmas in their parade will hold a separate parade than that of the group who chooses not to use the name Christmas in their parade.
Both parades draw large crowds and this year you can catch both parades if you choose. The Christmas Parade will be held on December 7 at 6pm and the Downtown Parade of Lights will be held on December 14 at 6pm.
Tulsa Fire Department
You will now see a new collection of ladder trucks around town that the Tulsa Fire Department has recently unveiled. There are now three 40 ton trucks that are each designed for various rescue missions and will be housed at Station NO 4, Station NO 29 and Station NO 31. Each fire truck cost $1.3 million, which was funded by Tulsa’s third-penny sales tax. Older trucks will now be used as backups.
If you need a good excuse to let someone else do the cooking, a benefit meal is the perfect opportunity. There are several benefit meals scheduled around town on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
There will be a benefit breakfast hosted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, just a short drive from downtown Tulsa. The benefit will help Washington County families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Breakfast will be served from 7 am to 10am at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
The Pilot Club of Bartlesville will be having a breakfast benefit with a pancake meal that will be held at the Dewey Masonic Lodge from 7 am to 11 am. It will be an all-you-can-eat breakfast for $6 per person and will fund the Pilot Club projects.
A lunch benefit will be served at the Dewey Church of Christ for the Dewey Lion Club from 11 am to 2 pm. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children. Menu includes soup, chili, desert and drinks.
