The Cherokee Art Market Comes to Tulsa
The Cherokee Art Market is coming to Tulsa, OK this week. The event will host over 150 elite Native American artists from around the nation. All artists are from federally-recognized tribes in the US. This will be an exciting two day event that is packed with fun and lots of entertainment.
During the event you will get a chance to enjoy cultural entertainment and art symposiums that include paintings, storytelling, basket weaving and more. There will be approximately 130 art booths along with a first class dining experience at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Restaurants include Toby Keith’s I love This Bar, McGill’s on 19 and Grill.
Since art is alive and thriving in the Native American society, you will see many native artists from all over the country that will be promoting their displayed art and showing off their unique cultural skills of their trade. Some will have artistic demonstrations such as storytelling and flint knapping will help guests of the event to develop a better understanding of the Native American culture. You can enjoy each demonstration at the even with a paid admission.
You can also enjoy the annual Youth Competition, which is the Cherokee Art Market’s fastest growing event. It’s open to children in grades 6 through 12 and gives the students with artistic talents a chance to showcase their own work to the world. To enter, students must be a citizen of a federally-recognized tribe.
