Holiday Hosting Checklist
Prep-cooking – Prep cooking is one of the most time saving activities you can do to help your holiday hosting a lot easier. Decide what you want on your menu, buy the items and get them all prepped a day or two before your party. Chop your ingredients and pre-measure your spices into small containers. On the day of your party, all you have to do is combine everything and you’re ready to cook in no time.
Pre-Stock – It will be so beneficial if you stock your pantry ahead of time. If you know you will be baking and using an array of spices, make sure you have purchased your baking ingredients, spices, sauces and frozen items several days ahead of time.
Fun for everyone – These day’s families and friends are putting down their electronics during parties to enjoy cards, board games, movies and more. Just make sure that whatever you decide to do that it is age appropriate.
Seating – When you plan to have a large holiday party, you should make sure you have enough seating for everyone and maybe a little extra for guests who just pop in. If you don’t have enough on your own, you can try renting from party supply stores or just ask your friends to bring extra fold up chairs if they are able.
Guest Rooms – If your guests will be staying over for a night or two or more, you should make sure you have everything they will need to make their stay more enjoyable. Imagine your guest room as a hotel room. Clean linens, towels, toiletries, magazines, lamps for night lighting, empty draws for their items, etc.
Decorating – Decorating will set the mood for your holiday party. Decide what mood you are going for and decorate accordingly. Are you going for elegant? Try using elegant gold and silver candle holders with tall white candles, use fine china and fancy linens.
