For one day only, the City hosts its free Tulsa Household Hazardous Waste Disposal event. They accept most items absolutely free of charge on November 4th from 8 am to 2 pm at their collection facility on Galveston. Unlike most other days of the year, you won’t need to make an appointment. Just show up with your stuff and they’ll dispose of it for you. This provides the perfect opportunity to clear out household hazardous waste from your garage, medicine cabinets and underneath your sinks.
Do you have a mercury thermostat? If your thermostat’s a few years old, it might contain mercury. Replace it with a new programmable thermostat. These save money as well as energy.
